Cuba libre is one of the most famous and oldest cocktails of all time. Cuba libre (Free Cuba) doesn’t have an exact time of when and how it was created, but most of the stories of its origin suggest that it was a drink of the War of Independence in Cuba between 1898 and 1900. The soldiers would toast and say “Cuba Libre!” the phrase stayed with the drink and till this day every bartender will know what a Cuba libre is even if they don’t speak Spanish. Cuba libre is four simple but essential ingredients Gold Rum, Coke, Lime, and ice.
